Allen Laney

Allen, 28, of Waterville, was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and grandson. Allen passed away on June 11th, 2024, in Waterville. Allen was born February 20th, 1996, to Linda and Jeffrey Laney in Moses Lake, Washington. At a young age Allen moved to Waterville with his mom, stepdad, and siblings. Allen grew up in Waterville and later graduated from Waterville High School. His elementary years were spent playing AAU basketball with his siblings. Between practices, games, and camps, Allen (and his family) were always running around. Allen played basketball all throughout his school years. During his high school years, he found a love for track which he went to and placed in state. That was one of his favorite accomplishments and a very memorable season. Allen had a love for fishing (Except when his little sister caught him that one time) and getting some target shooting in when he could. He could almost always be found with his closest friends, Dayn, Joey, Junior, Kaden, Wendy, Mason, and Makayla. Allen loved spending time with his friends and listening to music. His place of comfort and favorite place to be was sitting on his mom and stepdad’s porch, listening to music and napping. As Allen entered the workforce, he started with some landscaping jobs that he thoroughly enjoyed. He had gained knowledge that he was always sharing about yard ideas that he had. He later went to work at a manufacturing company, which he loved. Allen really enjoyed his coworkers and loved sharing stories about them with family and friends. One coworker in particular, who tried for years to convince him to wear his hair in a man bun at work. He never gave in to the request, but it gave him a good laugh. Allen is survived by his dad, Jeffrey Laney of Quincy, mom and stepdad, Linda and Aaron Abrahamse of Waterville. Grandparents, Linda Smith and Dave Bodenlos of Culver Oregon, Clarice and Ronald Laney of Quincy and Dale Abrahamse of Waterville. His siblings Trisha Curtis of Ephrata, Michael Abrahamse of Marysville, Michael (Mallory) Mandeville of Ephrata, Jamie (Maria) Abrahamse of Withrow, Christian Abrahamse of Puyallup, and Rochelle Laney of Waterville. His nieces and nephews, Jerrett and Greysen Curtis, Brooklynn and Logan Mandeville, and Wesley and Tatum Abrahamse. An abundance of loved aunts, uncles and cousins. His ‘second moms’ Lisa Morelock and Jessica Little. Plus, countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and loving, gentle soul. Allen’s sudden departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. His spirit is free to roam and will continue to live within all whose lives he touched. “Goodbyes are only for people who love with their eyes because those who love with their heart and soul there is no such thing as separation.” -Rumi A Memorial Service will be held on July 6th at 2:00 pm.at Faith Community Church, 1005 10th Ave SW, Quincy. A Celebration of Life will take place July 21st at 2:00 pm in Waterville at Pioneer Park.
