Barry Joseph DeChenne

The DeChenne family announces with great sadness, the passing of Barry J DeChenne. He was a beloved Son, Brother, Dad, Uncle, Nephew, cousin and friend. Barry was number 3 of the 7 children born to Gary and Molly DeChenne, and was born on September 10, 1959, in Wenatchee. He passed away at 66 years old. Along with his siblings, he attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, Orchard Jr. High, and Wenatchee High School. He graduated in the class of 1977. He then attended J.M. Perry Institute specializing in Auto Mechanics. He then became a Master Mechanic and was employed by many of the auto dealerships in Wenatchee. He later worked for McDonald Building Construction Company, in Entiat. He married Lisa Melcher and together had a son named Bryce. Some years later, following the death of Lisa, he was married to Laurie Grimm and later divorced. Barry loved riding motorcycles, playing the drums, and poker. He had an exceptional talent and love for painting, welding, crafty gifts, and interesting art projects. He shared his many works of art with others and also displayed them at art galleries and events. Some of Barry's favorite places were at Camp Bonaparte, and Silver Falls, up the Entiat River. He especially loved fishing at Fish Lake, where he frequented the family's cabin. His fishing boat was named "Cirrhosis of the River." Family and friends remember him for his uncanny quick wit and his spontaneous ability to light a room with his zany antics and love of humor. Barry enjoyed attending Mass, and in recent years found great pleasure in volunteering his service at KC Help Medical Equipment loan program. His skill at repairing and readying items to be reloaned was valued. He is survived by his son Bryce, father Gary DeChenne, siblings Mark(Lisa) DeChenne Steve DeChenne, Jody (Bryan) Campbell, David DeChenne, Jennie (Tim) McDonald and Joe DeChenne, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Molly in 2020. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the KC Help. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley of East Wenatchee.
