Colleen Landsborough

Colleen Landsborough Wenatchee, WA Colleen Landsborough, age 54, of Wenatchee, WA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. She died peacefully of liver disease and in no pain at her home with her husband at her side. Born in Honolulu, HI on July 4, 1958, to a navy serving father and mother, she traveled often. Attending Santa Clara High School in California, she graduated in 1977, and in 1978, met her husband to be, Bill Landsborough. He was a maintenance technician and she was a diffusion operator, both at National Semiconductor in Santa Clara. They lived together for several years in Santa Clara and when Bill had the opportunity to transfer to West Jordan, UT, they both moved there and bought a home in Sandy, UT. It was there in Sandy that they both became born-again Christians and on May 21, 1981, they married in Las Vegas, NV. She continued to live in Sandy until Bill was laid off in 1982. He found work in Everett, WA and they moved there in 1983, and lived in Bothell, WA until 2000, when work opportunities brought them to Moses Lake to help set up the new Genie Industry manufacturing plant. Colleen was an Engineering Aide there. They bought a small farm with horse facilities and started getting heavily into boarding horses and giving lessons. Colleen excelled in English riding lessons and quickly became well known, working especially with children. They then had to sell the farm and move to Wenatchee when they both were laid off. Colleen went back to school and in 2005, she graduated from Wenatchee Valley College with an AA degree in Radiation Technology. She served an apprenticeship at Republic, commuting every week from Wenatchee and then went to work at the Quincy Medical Center as an X-Ray Technologist. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Highgate and then Sunnybrook Adult Homes for years. She continued to enjoy riding her horse and teaching for many years. Colleen was loved by everyone. She had a deep compassion for all she met and cared for. She will truly be missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Bill Landsborough; her parents, Brownie Pelfrey of Willits, CA and mother, Gerta Pelfrey of Santa Clara, CA; and sisters, Leona Pelfrey and husband, Mike of Pocatello, ID and Loretta Mutter and husband, Rick of Fremont, CA. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Road, East Wenatchee.
