Donald E. Marshall Obituary Donald Eugene Marshall “Don”, 95, of Monroe, Washington, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 18, 2026. He passed peacefully in Meridian, Idaho, with family by his side. Don was born in Spokane, Washington, on October 13, 1930, to William Ellis Marshall and Emily “Lillian” Marshall. Don grew up in Seattle, Washington, spending many summers with his sister, Beverly, on his uncle’s farm in Harrington, Washington. He graduated from West Seattle High School and then went on to join the US Navy, where he served from 1950-1954 on the USS Rombach and the USS Shea. He served during the Korean War while stationed in the Marshall Islands. Don received an honorable discharge as a Machinist’s Mate 3rd class. Don married his wife, Marge, willingly and lovingly taking on the responsibility of raising six of her seven children as well as two of his own. They were blessed with one more child, adding to an often chaotic but joyful home full of laughter and love. Don had an excellent work ethic all his life. In addition to his time in the Navy, he worked at Boeing Aircraft Company and the US Postal Service as a mail carrier before taking over his father’s machinist business in West Seattle, Northwest Carbide Tool & Service, working there for over 22 years. After retiring, Don and Marge followed their dream of moving to Leavenworth, Washington, where they built a large log home and opened The Old Brick Silo Bed & Breakfast. Don’s humor and gregarious personality served him well in the hospitality industry. Later, Don and Marge resided in East Wenatchee and then settled in Monroe, Washington, for many years. Don is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie Louise Marshall, and his sister, Beverly L. Black. Don is survived by his ten children: Richard Einar, Adrienne Beste, Patricia Ehinger, Kathleen Aitkins, Marian Samac, Robert Marshall, Robert Carmody, Kevin Carmody, Theresa Reas, and Michael Marshall. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
