Donald Richard Moore

Don R. Moore Wenatchee, WA Don went to his heavenly home on May 11, 2011. Don was born on May 19, 1927, in Cameron, MO to John and Neva Moore. He grew up in Cameron with his two brothers, Charles and Glen Edward, and sister, Doris. At the young age of 14 years, Don joined the Civilian Conservation Corps to earn money to help his parents. Don had a very strong work ethic at a very young age and it continued all his life. He worked two jobs at times, to provide for his family. He served in the Army after World War II, in the Occupational Forces in Germany. He married his first wife, Betty, who had three daughters, all of whom he loved, and in return, they loved and respected him. He was later blessed with a daughter, Donna, born in Missouri. Don and his family moved to Ellensburg, WA in 1955, when he was blessed with daughter, Marsha. He was a Salesman for Major and Thomas Dealership in Ellensburg for many years. He moved to Wenatchee in 1971, and was Sales Manager for Bud Westby Motors. He owned and operated a dry cleaning business, working two jobs. He later became Sales Manager for North Central Washington Chevrolet. He loved selling cars and worked at Joe Welty Ford for over 20 years. He made many friendships through the years through sales and always took good care of his customers. In 1987, he married his wife, Sharon, and enjoyed the many family reunions with the Selcho family and all the love and laughter they shared together. Don and Sharon had a small apple orchard in Monitor and loved living there, until moving to Wenatchee in 2010. He retired from sales in 1996, and he and Sharon enjoyed many trips throughout the United States in their RV, visiting family and enjoying the country. He loved driving and transported many vehicles for Goodfellow Bros. for many years. He later drove for Sangster Motors, doing dealer trades until January 2011. He loved the Sangster Family - Don, Corey, Casey and Chad were very special to him. In 1999, Don's great-granddaughter was born and he and Sharon later adopted her. He loved and adored her. He spent every spring building pens for goats, chickens and ducks. He taught her to ride a bike; took her sleigh riding; and on many walks together; camping and fishing, where he could never fish, as he was always baiting her hook. They planted a garden every spring, and loved eating tomatoes together, right out of the garden. Don is survived by his wife, Sharon and daughter, Gabi, of the family home; daughters, Patty (Wayne) Kreiling of Kansas City, MO, Judy Kennedy of Lincoln City, OR and Marsha (Don) Osborn of East Wenatchee; brother, Glenn of Independence, MO; and sister, Doris Thomas of Enumclaw, WA; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; daughters, Donna and Maureen; grandson, Danny; and brother, Charles. Don will be greatly missed and will be held in our hearts until we meet in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, any contributions may be sent to Hospice of Wenatchee. At his request, there will be No Service. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
