Geneva D. Manry

Geneva Manry 85, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on the evening of August 23rd, 2013 with her husband Butch by her side. Born September 18th, 1927, in Houston, Texas the daughter of Jeff and Allie Copeland, she had one brother Leo Copeland. Geneva lived in the Wenatchee Valley since 1941, and on February 9th, 1946 she married the love of her life, E.G. (Butch) Manry. Her family was forever her greatest joy and she loved Christmas and Thanksgiving when the family would gather. She fussed over everything and loved all the preparations, baking and decorating weeks ahead of time - never growing tired of any of it. Cooking and entertaining were two of her great loves. She was an accomplished seamstress and taught sewing for several years at Singer Sewing Machine Company, where she became the office manager and manager of the fabric department. An outstanding business woman she eventually owned and operated her own dress shop in the Valley North Mall, later selling it to accept a position at Fashion Fabrics as Manager of the Wenatchee Fashion Fabrics and District Manager of the five other stores in Washington, Idaho and Oregon remaining there until retirement. One of the most important things in her life was her relationship with God. Studying and teaching the Bible was her greatest joy. She was a Sunday School teacher for 52 years at the Wenatchee Valley Baptist Church and a devout Christian who loved to share and fellowship with the people of her church, and she continued to faithfully serve God and minister to people around her throughout her entire life. Geneva will be missed by her family and friends. An amazing wife, mother, grandma, mentor, friend and teacher to us all... the family takes comfort in knowing she is safely in God's arms. She is survived by her husband Butch, her three children, Gloria Osborn (Wenatchee), Patsy Vail (Oak Harbor), Randy Manry (Wenatchee), and 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Preceeding her in death is her brother Leo Copeland, and her parents Jeff and Allie Copeland, grandson Ken Alcombrack, foster son Gary Jefferson, and sister-in-law Eula Mae Kelly. A grave site memorial will be held Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. There will be a time of sharing after at Meadow Ridge Park Club House 1630 Meadow Ridge Drive. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA
