Jacob Dean DeLosReyes

Jacob "Jake" DeLosReyes passed away on January 22, 2011, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jake was born September 28, 1982, in Wenatchee, to Jay and Mickie DeLosReyes. He grew up in the Wenatchee Valley and had enjoyed spending as much time as he could enjoying the outdoors of his community. He especially loved fishing the many rivers and lakes of the area. At a young age, Jake discovered he had a profound love of music. He began playing bass in elementary school and played many string instruments, until he discovered the guitar. Jake loved to compose his own music and would play whenever there was a guitar present. He had a beautiful voice that made people stop what they were doing to just listen. Jake grew up surrounded by many children who were fostered over the years by his parents. He counted each and every one of these kids as a brother or sister. Jake was a talented salesman who spent six years with the Kirby Vacuum Company. He enjoyed traveling all over the state and meeting new people. In 2003, it was discovered that Jake had epilepsy. He held his head high and managed the condition as best he could. He had a wide variety of friends, who he spent his free time with. He had a soft spot in his heart for people who had to deal with chronic pain, the same way he did. Jake enjoyed making people laugh and pulling as many practical jokes as he could, then he would look at you with a "Who me?" expression. He will be missed more than words can ever express. Survivors include his parents, Mickie DeLosReyes of East Wenatchee and Jay DeLosReyes of Ephrata; his sisters, Shylo (Shawn) Ferguson and Tamara DeLosReyes, both of East Wenatchee; his brothers, Nathaniel (Marcie) DeLosReyes of Wenatchee, Timothy DeLosReyes and Troy DeLosReyes, both of East Wenatchee and Travis Garaas of Yakima; also sisters, Destiny Elmore and Naomi Manzanarez and family, all of East Wenatchee, Christa Garaas of Wenatchee and Delilah Garaas of Tacoma. He is also survived by his niece, Alyssa Ferguson, who he adored with all his heart and nephew, Jordan Ferguson. He is also survived by his grandparents, Mary and Mike Virden of Malaga; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who he called his family. Jacob was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Rosa Rodriquez; grandmother, Josie Reyes; uncles, Manuel and Johnny Corral; and aunts, Wanda Frank, Terri Morgan and Terrie Cervantes and family. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011, at the Wenatchee Nazarene Church. A Potluck Reception will follow the Service at the Wenatchee Community Center. Donations may be made to the memorial fund set up in Jake's name at Numerica Credit Union. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
