Corporal Jake Pospical, USMC June 30th 2024 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Division Jake Isaac Pospical, 25, passed away by his own hand on June 30th, 2024. Jake was born on August 15th, 1998 in Arlington, Washington where he spent the first thirteen years of his youth. In 2011 Jake moved with his family to Leavenworth, Washington, the place he’d come to call home, no matter where else in the world he traveled. In school, Jake wrestled for the Kodiaks and was involved in YoungLife as well as other extracurricular activities only small-town boys can fully know. After Jake graduated from Cascade High School in 2017, he signed on with the Marines immediately. As a Marine Jake was a Mortarman and earned the rank of Corporal in the 2/1 2nd Battalion 1st Marine Division Echo Company at Camp Horno. He earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Saudi Arabia), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and an Expert Rifle Qualification Badge. On January 26th, 2021, Jake became a father upon the birth of his daughter, River RaeLynn and he loved being a dad. Jake additionally assumed the role of father figure to Haisley Meghann Mae, girlfriend, Kendall Head’s daughter. On October 27th, 2023 Mazie Jo came along and sealed his “girl-dad” status. Jake was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved nature more than just about anything else in life. If he wasn’t fishing or hunting Pacific Northwest wildlife, he was planning and preparing for the next season with family and friends. Jake was preceded in death by his Great-Grandpa Albert Stivala, Great-Grandma Ila Delaney, and Great-Grandparents Jim & Betty Mealey, He is survived by daughters, River RaeLynne & Mazie Jo, girlfriend Kendall Head and her daughter, Haisley; Mother, Danielle (Jeremy) Worley; biological father, Justin (Robin) Mealey; adoptive father, Russell (Jennifer) Pospical; brother, Justin Pospical; sisters, Tatum (Tim) Holmes, Matea Flores, Julie Mealey, Ashlee (Jacob) Worley; and countless more family members and friends so close they’re pretty much brothers and sisters as well. Services will be held at Cascade Mountain Bible Church in Leavenworth this Saturday, July 13th at 1 pm. A vehicle procession to the site will rally at the Marine Recruiter’s Office in East Wenatchee, WA at 11:30 am.
