Linda Rosen

Linda Marie Rath was born in Prosser, WA, September 11, 1950. She was the last child (Baby) of 8 siblings. Five brothers and three sisters: Mel, Ione, Betty, Dennis, LeRoy, Harvey, Robert, and Treva. At six months of age, she lost her father, Julius, who died unexpectedly. Her mother raised the last four children, Harvey, Robert, Treva, and Linda, at their home in Grandview. Linda received her education, graduating from Grandview High School. She met her future husband, Maurice, at the age of 15, becoming HS sweethearts, and marrying at the age of 18, February 15, 1969. Throughout her life, she maintained family/friend connections visiting those near and far. She went to Yakima Valley Community College, majoring in Business. She then entered her professional career, ending with the Mabton School District as Payroll/HR, leaving after over 30 years with the district. She balanced raising her family, working full-time, with the added responsibilities of managing the family Cherry Orchards for 51 years. Throughout her life, she was the stable rock of her family, supporting those she loved, most importantly her husband. The two enjoyed and cherished their time building, supporting, and enjoying their family, making memories along the way. Following her 20/40/60 rule, she worked from the age of 20, worked 40 years, and retired at 60. Her twin granddaughters were born to Sherri in 1997, and she began working part-time, helping her daughter raise and bond with her granddaughters, Sydney and Samantha Colson. This was a very special time of her life. They relocated to East Wenatchee in 2004 to be closer to family. Her dream of living in the same community was altered when her children moved away. In 2010, Linda kicked off retirement joining her husband with trips to Australia and Fiji, returning to continue their adventure with a cross country RV trip around the United States. They enjoyed the gorgeous fall colors and covered bridges of the New England States as they continued down the East Coast, to the Florida Keys before returning to their homes. She and her husband enjoyed their transition to retirement mode, snow birding from the PNW to Arizona the last 16 years. In her lifetime, Linda and Maurice loved playing pinochle with their friends, vacationing yearly to the Oregon Coast and various places of the world, to include trips to all the Hawaiian Islands, Mexico, Caribbean cruises, and Germany where she and her family spent time with her brother, Robert, who was stationed there with his family. They also traveled to the holy land/Israel where she and Maurice were baptized in the Jordan River. They enjoyed several Sturgis motorcycle trips, including New Orleans, Florida, and Miami. Linda was a woman of faith, as she grew up attending the Grandview Lutheran Church and raised her family attending the Grandview Methodist Church. Linda lead with a quiet, kind, and gracious strength. Linda enjoyed her time with family and friends. She loved line dancing with her girlfriends, winning games of Hand and Foot, attending concerts, and trips with her husband until the end. They recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary at their regular destination, Port of Penasco. Linda is proceeded in death by her father, Julius Rath; mother, Viola (Voll) Rath; sisters, Ione, Betty, Treva; and brothers, LeRoy, Harvey, Mel, and Dennis. She is survived by her brother, Robert; husband, Maurice; daughter, Sherri; son, Cory; grandchildren, Sydney, Samantha, Brock, and Faith; and great-grandchild, Ryatt. Linda lived a life full of Love, Faith, and Family until the end. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
