Loydale Treat

Our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Loydale (Dell) Treat has gone to heaven on December 5th, 2013. Our GG was 87 years old residing at Young at Heart Adult Family Home when she succumbed to pneumonia and dementia. She was born in Prague, Oklahoma in 1926 to Henry and Ethel Trammel. Loydale was the fifth of eight children born in the same small farmhouse on 160 acres of corn and peanuts. The family survived the Great Depression and stayed on their land where a surviving sister still resides. Loydale was preceded in death by her husband Al in 2006, two sisters Beatrice and Irene and by two brothers Albert and James Henry (JH). Her sister Berneice still resides in Prague; a brother Bill lives in Oklahoma City; her youngest sister Sharon Kay lives in Kansas. Loydale married James Albert (Al) Treat in 1946 after Al completed service in a Third Army tank corps that saw action in North Africa and Italy. Al worked in dam construction after the war and Dell taught elementary school in most of the thirteen different locations across the United States where Al's jobs lead them. The family finally settled in Yakima, WA in the late 1960's. Between 1967 and 1992, Dell worked twenty five years for JC Penney Company. Both retired, Al and Dell moved to East Wenatchee in 1992 to be near an only son and family.Dell joined and attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 327 Palouse St. in Wenatchee. Dell is remembered by friends and family for her dry sense of humor, humility, and her ability to bridge the differences of those around her and bring them together. As members of the "Greatest Generation", Dell and Al would never have claimed that title. Dell and Al are survived by children Tom and Sarah Treat, their grandchildren Angelle Hosh, Matt and Sheri Treat, and Jill and Tom Miller. Six great grandchildren by age are Shannon Treat, Alaina Miller, Savannah Miller, Kaden Treat, Zoey Miller and Austin Miller. Dell's Funeral Service was conducted by Pastor Mark Hein at the Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum in East Wenatchee on Tuesday December 10. Telford's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of funeral arrangements. Memorials offered will be designated for St. Paul's Lutheran School.
