Norma Hinman Gloyn

Norma Jeanine Gloyn, 94, of Wenatchee, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. She was born on January 18, 1932, in Palisade, Minnesota, to Daisy May and Fred Hinman. Norma graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1950, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart and beloved husband, Gary. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. For many years, Norma worked as a talented seamstress for her brother Don at Hinman’s Leather Shop. She took pride in her work, but her greatest passion was providing a loving and stable home for her four children. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and welcome, and she was deeply devoted to her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Norma was an active and faithful member of her church, leading Bible studies and encouraging others in their faith up until her final month. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a wealth of knowledge, and a gift for conversation. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and had a special fondness for reciting old songs and poetry, often bringing smiles and laughter to those around her. She especially treasured holidays and gatherings, when she could bring everyone together and create lasting memories. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary; her grandson, Spencer Gloyn; her daughters-in-law, Jeannie Gloyn and Shay Gloyn; and her parents, Daisy May and Fred Hinman. Norma is survived by her daughter, Janet Parkhill; her sons, Jeff, Paul, and Stuart; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of great joy and pride. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends. Norma will be remembered as a kind, generous, and deeply loving woman who understood the true value of family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the faith she shared, and the love she gave so freely. Special thanks to the staff and friends of Blossom Valley for their helpful, loving assistance. Norma could not have received more loving care. Also, to Chapel of the Valley for their excellent and professional service. A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, and as a remembrance of her life and legacy, Norma requested that those who wish to honor her financially consider a gift to the Spencer Gloyn Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Columbia Basin Foundation.
