Patrick Lynam

On June 28th Patrick Edward Lynam peacefully earned his angel wings and went home to be with the Lord. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born August 18th 1939 in Everett Washington to John and Phyllis Lynam. He was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. He followed in his dad's footsteps and had a long career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad from which he retired in 2000 after 40 years. He was proud of his work and time with the railroad and made many lifelong friendships. He met Shirley Heth in 1968 during a dance that was put on by their Catholic Church in Magnolia. They married June 27th 1970 and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary the day before Pat's passing. Together, they adopted 2 infant girls in 1975 and 1978. They moved from Magnolia to Wenatchee in 1976 to raise their family. Pat was a proud member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was particularly proud of being a 4th degree knight and his unwavering commitment to the St Vincent De Paul food bank and KC help. He will tell you his most memorable time volunteering with the food bank and KC help was bringing his granddaughter Phoebe along with him where he proudly made her an honorary KC helper with her very own vest. Anyone who knew Pat knew of his love for sports. He held U of W Husky season tickets for many years, and became a faithful Gonzaga Bulldogs fan when his youngest daughter attended school there. He looked forward to his annual trip to Las Vegas with his friends for the West Coast College Conference basketball Tournament to cheer on the Bulldogs even long after his daughter's fan days had passed. Pat was endlessly patient, kind and encouraging to his family and all who knew him. He was very proud of his family and shared a special bond with each and every one. After a fall last November, his health began to decline, but he shared that he lived a good life and could not have asked for more. Pat was preceded in death by his parents John and Phyllis Lynam. His Brother john (Tom) Lynam and sister Polly Lynam. He is survived by his wife Shirley Lynam, and daughters Celeste Van Houten (Jeff) and Rochelle Lynam (Trevor Tredennick). Grandchildren Tyler, Nicole, Ashley, Phoebe, Porter and Cooper. Great Grandchildren Emerson, Ellie, Matteo and Alli. The family asks in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to the St Vincent De Paul food bank in his name. There will be a memorial service at St Joseph's Catholic church on July 30th at 2:00 PM, with a Rosary reading the night before at 7:00pm in the chapel at St Josephs.
