V. Reimer

V. Mae Reimer has chosen to be with her husband in heaven. Mae was born on October 28, 1930, to Cecil V. And Gladys M. Jellison in Chelan, WA. Mae and her family moved throughout the state, where she attended many schools as a child. She graduated in 1950 from Omak High School. After graduation from high school, Mae attended one year at Wenatchee Valley College, studying business and bookkeeping. She attended Western College of Commerce, a business college, in Wenatchee, WA, where she graduated with a teaching Degree in Business in 1962. With her teaching certificate, she taught for five years (off and on) before obtaining her teaching certificate to teach at the Business College in Wenatchee. She worked for Clyde Kellogg, a professor at the Business College, for several years after obtaining her business degree. In 1951, Mae met Bill Reimer, the love of her life, and was married November 16, 1957. On July 7, 1958, their first son, Cecil J. Reimer, was born and on August 30, 1961, their second son, Jacob W. Reimer, was born. Her family was everything to her and she was not afraid to show her love for them. Mae was a member of the National Indoor Sports Club for the Handicap. She was also a member of the Beehive Grange, which she recently received her 50 year membership Certificate in 2017. Mae loved to have company and would play pinochle with anyone that had to time to spend the evening playing cards. She also loved to play board games, but pinochle was her favorite way to spend the evening with friends. Mae worked from her home for the most part, doing bookkeeping and taxes, but she also helped her husband with his work as a custodian, until he retired. Mae continued to do janitorial work, after Bill passed away, until the late 1990's. Mae and her husband had a passion to travel and did so as often as they were able. They would visit relatives that lived in Montana, Minnesota, and all over the state of Washington. Mae enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, gardening, and just enjoying life. She would embroider pillow cases and make blankets, giving them to the people she loved. As a child, Mae would go fishing in the streams with her grandfather, and those fish that they caught were always the most tasty to her. As a young adult, she loved to square dance in wheelchairs. After retiring, she would ride an adult trike while her husband would ride along side on a motorized cart. You could see them riding and enjoying life all over Wenatchee. Mae will be greatly missed and loved by all that knew her and she will never be forgotten. Mae is survived by her son, Jacob (Rita) Reimer; daughter-in-law, Debbie Reimer; grandchildren: Michael (Miranda) Reimer, David Reimer, Nicholas Reimer, Marti Reimer; six great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Hailey, Kolbey, Timothy, Jackson, and Madilynn Reimer. She is also survived by three sisters: Nita Mahaffey, Barbara (Charles) Hughes, Ellen Bump; one brother, Albert (Elisa) Ehly; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, Cecil; parents; and numerous family members on both sides of her family. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Chapel of the Valley, 302 9th St., Wenatchee, WA, with concluding services and interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
