Walter Eugene Kohlmeier

Walter E. 'Pete' Kohlmeier August 14th, 1927 - July 14th, 2015 & Marie E. Kohlmeier March 7, 1928 - April 11th, 2015 Pete loved Marie. Anyone looking at the both of them could see it just by the way they looked at one another. From the time they ran away to Reno, Nevada to get married through the 67 years of life they lived, worked, laughed and loved together in Bellevue, and for the past 11 years, in East Wenatchee. Marie passed away this past April. She had worked for many long years at P.I.E. Trucking as a teletype operator and retired in 1984 after many years of service. Marie was one of the original career women, doing it all with going to work, keeping a home functional, taking care of her parents, and raising a sometimes wayward daughter. She was always willing to listen and advise yet she never pretended to have all the answers...she was an angel who had a calming presence in confusion, had comfort for others when it was called for and a gentle smile and encouragement when it was needed the most. Pete passed away recently from a broken heart without his Marie. He was a self made man who worked many different jobs from the time he was 8 years old until he settled at Boeing in Renton during the 1950's, and later on transfered up to the Boeing Everett plant. He worked as a mechanic on the first 707 aircrafts and climbed the ladder to working as a supervisor troubleshooting around the globe on the first 747's, finally retiring in 1985. Pete was accomplished in woodworking, he loved playing his guitar and singing, had some great rounds of golf, but his most favorite thing to do was go fishing and he led many friends and family down that road to becoming fishoholics. He shared special times in our lives and we grew strong as a family for the sharing of burdens. Pete was strict, sometimes opinionated, but had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody and always told us that it didn't matter how many material things you had in life, as long as you had family and friends you could trust and love. Pete and Marie were preceded in death by their little granddaughter, Kimberly, their parents, and several family members. They are survived by their daughter Dianna, son-in-law and fishing buddy, Mike, and so very proud and loved their granddaughter Kelly more than they could say. They loved living in East Wenatchee and the people that surrounded them there...Thank you Mike, Bonny, Matt, and Gordy. Special Thanks to the Palliative Care Team at Central Washington Hospital, including all the supportive Doctors and Nurses for their care because we couldn't have gotten through this without every single one of you. Gravesite services for Pete will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA on July 27th at 12:30pm, where he will be laid to rest forever with the love of his life, Marie. Safe journey Mom and Dad, we love you and will miss you forever with all of our hearts. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA
