Warren J. Moody

Warren J. "Bud" Moody was born to John R. and Helen (Stumpf) Moody on August 31, 1924, in Spokane, WA. Bud attended Sutton Grade School, Lewis and Clark High School and Gonzaga University, all in Spokane. Bud took a break in his education when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in World War II. After returning from the War, Bud finished his education at Eastern Washington University and went on to be a teacher for the Eastmont School District. He taught for 30 years and his primary occupation was as an Industrial Arts teacher. He left beautiful pieces of his wood work among his family, as he always made the first piece as an example to help guide his students. Bud married Lois Ruud in September of 1947. That marriage ended and he met and married his partner and love, Sharon R. Moody, on December 19, 1964. In 2009, Bud moved to the Blossom Creek Memory Care Community, here in Wenatchee. He received personalized care and loving support from the Blossom Creek staff, until he passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord, on July 27, 2010. Bud was preceded in death by his mother and father, Helen and John Moody; his sister, Louella Stroyan; his much loved and first born daughter, Ellen Christine Moody Gray-Walker; and most recently, his wife of 45 years, Sharon R. Moody. Bud leaves behind his sister, Marceline Kelvin; three daughters, Claudia Moody Wiggins (Jim), Cara Moody Schroeder (Cordell) and Tamara Moody Kolvoord (Rob); his granddaughters, Lara Osborn (Scott), Eloise Barshes (David), Chelsea Wiggins, Lacey Robben (Dusty), Ashley Connolly, Melanie Gonzales (Jesus), Olivia Schroeder, Natasha Schroeder and Ava Schroeder; and his grandsons, Joshua Gray (Nicole), Christopher Wiggins (Kristin), Cameron Wiggins (April) and Losha Schroeder. Bud always enjoyed his time with his great-grandchildren, Joe, Alex and Daniel Osborn, Hayden Wiggins, Bowen and Laila Connolly and Gabby Gonzales. He commented often on how beautiful and precious these little children were to him, and how they needed special love and attention. Bud also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, whom he loved. Friends were of special importance to Bud and he maintained relationships with friends, even from his childhood days. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to North Central Washington Hospice, or the American Heart Association. At his request, a quiet Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Telford's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of the arrangements.
